Velda Rhea Thompson

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, March 13 at 1:30 at Lindsay Cemetery for Velda Rhea Thompson, 85 of Exeter and formerly of Lindsay who passed away March 1.

Velda was born January 24, 1934 in  Casey, Oklahoma to Willie and Vera Johnson and then came to California and to the Lindsay area at around age 11 with her family. She attended local schools and over the years, worked for various packing houses in our area. Velda enjoyed going to church and playing the bass guitar and was very particular about getting her hair done every Friday. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Thompson and brothers Bill Johnson, Gene Johnson, J.R. Johnson and Ray Johnson.. She is survived by her son Kevin Thompson and wife Tammy of Exeter; her brother Harold O. Johnson of Chowchilla; seven grandchildren Rayleen, Drelen, Kendall, Nicholas, Natalie, Brooke and Luke.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, March 11 from 2:00 until 7:00 PM and then a graveside will take place on Wednesday, March 13 at 1:30 at Lindsay Cemetery.
