Gloria Ortiz

Gloria Ortiz, 76 of Lindsay passed away on September 21, 2021.  The Holy Rosary will be held on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at 6PM at the Webb Sanders & Smith Funeral Home in Lindsay.

On Thursday, October 7, 2021 at 10AM, a Mass will be held for Gloria at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lindsay. The burial will follow the Mass at Lindsay-Strathmore Cemetery.

Gloria was born January 28, 1945 in Clarea, Zacatecas, Mexico to deceased Jesus and Vicenta Banuelos and then was brought to the United States as a youngster by her family. After settling in Tulare County, Gloria attended several local schools. Gloria met the love of her life and married Jesse D. Ortiz in Lindsay on April 25, 1963 and they resided in Lindsay, CA.

Gloria was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and cared deeply for her entire family.  Despite all her health challenges, Gloria demonstrated strength, endurance and perseverance throughout her entire life.  Gloria will be dearly missed by her family and friends.  Gloria enjoyed having phone conversations with her sister and many friends.  A few of Gloria’s hobbies were doing word search puzzles, reading romance books, crocheting items for the family, shopping and watching her Spanish Novellas.  

Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse D. Ortiz and her brother Alberto Cercado Jr.  Gloria is survived by her Mother, Vicenta Cercado and Stepfather, Alberto Cercado Sr., her children, daughter, Joann Perez of Hanford and her two sons, Michael Ortiz and Daniel Ortiz both of Visalia, Gloria’s sister, Estella Martinez and brothers , John Cercado, Sergio Cercado, Joe Cercado and Fernando Cercado as well as 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Closed casket visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 6 from 4:00PM to 7:00PM at the funeral home. The Webb Sanders and Smith Funeral Home are managing all the arrangements.
