Irene Borbon Martinez

Sadly, we must say goodbye to Irene Borbon Martinez. She was born to Roman and Pauline Borbon on June 7, 1939 and peacefully went to be with our lord on May 24, 2021.  Irene was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. After graduating from High School, Irene married her High School sweetheart David G Martinez.  Together, they had four children: Rebecca Hinojos (husband Salvador), Beatrice Ortega, (husband Lupe Ortega), David, (wife Martha) and Michael,(wife Patti).  Irene pursued her dream of becoming a Registered Nurse and entered the Nursing Program at the College of the Sequoias.  She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1979.  Irene worked as a Registered and Administrative Nurse for 30 years in the Visalia and Porterville area.  Irene enjoyed her family time together and traveling.  She is survived by her husband David of 64 years, four children, four sisters, three brothers and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends. While we will miss her so, we will remember her warm smile, her kind heart and her great sense of humor. We will carry her in our hearts forever.   Visitation is scheduled for June 9, 2021 at the Webb Sanders & Smith Funeral Home, 163 S Mirage, Lindsay CA, between the hours of 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a Catholic Rosary Recital commencing at 6:00 pm.  A Catholic Mass is scheduled for 10:00 am at the Sacred Heart Church, 217 Lindero Ave, Lindsay, CA on the morning of June 10, 2021, with graveside services following at the Lindsay-Strathmore Cemetery, 639 S Foothill Ave, Lindsay, CA.
