Jerry Paul Fairley Sr.

On Monday, January 9, 2023, Jerry P. Fairley Sr., age 87, went home to be with his Lord and Savior after a brief illness. Although he had been residing with his son in Moscow, Idaho for the past four years, his home was unquestionably in the San Joaquin Valley of California, where he was born and raised on the family farm near Strathmore. He graduated from Cal Poly University SLO in 1957 and married Pauline E. Branden, after which he went on to work for a number of companies designing, building, and testing engines for trucks, locomotives, tug boats, and other heavy industrial applications. He was especially proud of his work with the American Locomotive Company (ALCO) in Auburn, NY, a position which took him all over the world, troubleshooting engines in Europe, Africa, South America, and Asia.

Although he loved his career in engineering and was an avid welder, machinist, and gold panning enthusiast, his greatest dedication was to the service of the Lord. He was a long-time member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, and is remembered as a Sunday School teacher and youth group leader, as well as for holding many leadership positions with the Auburn Alliance Church (Auburn NY) and Parkside Chapel (Visalia CA). He was also deeply interested in the history of the Alliance Church and its founder, A. B. Simpson.

Jerry is survived by his two sons, Jerry Jr., and David, their wives, numerous grandchildren, and his faithful dog Cookie.
